Simone Micallef

smiling simSimone Micallef is a mental health practitioner and has been using CBT-based programmes to treat stress and anxiety for the last 25 years.

She graduated in psychology at Queen’s University, Canada, after which she went on to do her professional training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Stress Management at the Centre for Stress Management in the United Kingdom while training for six years at the Department of Cardiac Services in St. Luke’s Hospital in Malta.

Her M.Sc. from the Department of Clinical Sciences in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation at the University of Chester in the U.K. emphasized the role of psychological stress on cardiovascular health and the effectiveness of CBT-based stress management programmes.

Simone has completed her training in Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Mercedes Ngoh at Yeotown in Devon, U.K. and is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT200).   Her recent development in yoga and her interest in the scientific basis for its use in stress-induced illness led her to design an Integrative CBT-Yoga (ICY™) based programme.

Simone is a registered Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and provides CBT-based private consultations at St. James Hospital in Sliema, Malta, as well as online for individuals suffering from stress-related conditions.
